Will Handle Paige and Chevrolet Cars with Garage Business
S. W. Cooley and Merritt Nolan both of whom have been in the employ of the Reese Motor Co. have decided to get into the game for themselves and have purchased the McNeer garage on North Main Street. The deal was quickly consummated and furnished the sensation of Chariton’s motor row. Both of the new proprietors are experienced men in motor lines. Mr. Cooley will have charge of sales and business management and Mr. Nolan, who is an expert, will take care of the mechanical end of the concern. With such team work the new enterprise should be a great success. Both men are enterprising, know about all there is to know about the automobile business and each has many friends both in city and county. Mr. Cooley was formerly with the firm of Blanchard & Cooley and has wide business experience and acquaintance. Mr. Nolan was connected with the same firm.
Possession was taken on Wednesday and the new owners are busy getting a line on their new business. They have not yet decided upon a name for the garage and invite suggestions as to what the new concern shall be called. They will continue to handle both the Paige automobiles and the Chevrolet cars and trucks and motorists can rest assured that they will receive first class service in all respects.
Under the management of C. O. McNeer the business was growing and prosperous and the owner was popular with the automobile trade, with which he has been connected for a number of years. He tells us he has made no plans for the immediate future, but those who know him do not believe he will long be on the “retired” list.
